WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A local donut shop we featured earlier this year in a special series called “Destination Donuts” hit a big time milestone this month and it’s the community that is benefiting.

The Donut Inn in Wilmington created a donation program where they give all their daily leftover baked goods to a local non-profit.

The goal set this year was to donate 2000 dozen donuts, bagels, and baked good.

The owners tell us that yesterday they surpassed it donated 2,083 dozens to 23 different local non-profits.

Well done, guys!
