WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Today those who serve including the military, firefighters, police and EMTs were served.

It’s a local organizations way of saying thank you for all you do and sacrifices you make everyday.

Warrior Family Ministries is a non-profit organization in the port city that invited active duty military, veterans and all first responders around New Hanover County to a Thanksgiving meal.

This is the second year that they have invited those serving the community to come eat and last year they served around 300 people.

“I have never been able to serve before on Thanksgiving. This is my first year being able to do something like this and I’m so happy to be apart of an organization that will let me do that, it’s just warming my heart,” Warrior Family Ministries Marketing Director Lyndsay Benson said.

Even though it was for those who serve the community anyone was also welcome to come and eat.
