NHSO investigating second armed robbery at Gordon Road gas station in over a week


NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery this morning at the Speedway gas station at 6769 Gordon road.

The sheriff’s office says there were two suspects involved in this latest robbery at the store.

They are described as a black male, approximately 6’0”, approximately 200 lbs, wearing a dark in color jacket, gloves, dark in color pants, unknown shoes, face covered by an unknown type of fabric, carrying a small black and stainless revolver.


The other is described as a white male, approximately 5’7”, approximately 180 lbs, dark in color jacket, dark in color hat, black shoes, face covered by an unknown type of camuoflage fabric, carrying a large stainless revolver with approximate 6”-8” barrel.

According to the sheriff’s office, the two men entered the gas station and demanded the clerks give them cash, after stealing cash and cigarettes the suspects forced the two clerks into the bathroom and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

This is similar to another armed robbery that happened at the Speedway last Saturday, November 18, according to incident reports. In fact, the report shows the armed robbery happened also within the same hour, around 5 a.m.

Also in each incident, the store clerk has told deputies the suspects stole cash along with multiple packs of cigarettes.
