WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Getting in trouble out on the water is a scary thing, luckily, boaters have SeaTow to help out when they get into a situation.

Now, three SeaTow captains from our area are being honored for their heroic work.

Wrightsville Beach boat captain Ryan Saporito is being recognized for saving five people from a boat that had capsized after being pushed into rocks back in June. All five survived with minor injuries.

Ocean Isle Beach boat captains Clay Hughes and Kendrick Schwartz answered a may day call in July that came from a boat that had lost power and was taking on water.

When they arrived the boat capsized, but all four passengers were saved within minutes.

Schwartz is also getting solo recognition for saving a woman that had gone overboard from a sailboat in September.

Congratulations and thank you for everything you do!
