LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A furry, four-legged member of the Cape Fear community showed off his artistic skills at the Leland Cultural Arts Center this weekend.
His name is Netop the Painting Pooch and he was one of the main attractions at the Holiday Art Market Saturday.
Netop’s abstract creations were available for sale and all the proceeds go to animals in need.
The dog has been painting for nearly twelve years, a long career for a pup who just needed something new to use his endless energy on.
“I figured, as I am an artist, why not teach him how to paint? It would keep him busy. So when we figured out how to make that little paint brush for him and he could hold it in his mouth, it was a go from then on and he’s been raising money for all kinds of charities ever since,” said Jacqueline Karch, Netop’s owner.
This was the second year that the Holiday Market was held.
Many of the thirty vendors on hand created their art on site at the Cultural Arts Center.
