WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The automotive industry is constantly evolving. Automotive students are trying to keep up with the newest innovations. Today, the Parkway Subaru decided to lend a helping hand to students at Cape Fear Community College.

The dealership donated a 2017 Subaru WRX to the students. The vehicle will be used as a part of their hands-on classroom training. Previously, the students were working on older car models. Some of the students say they are thankful and ecstatic they will get to work with the latest technology.

“Automotive industry is always, rapidly changing everyday, every hour, anything. And getting something that’s almost brand new to us is like a treat because it’s like Christmas day for us, because we’re working on old outdated stuff and now we’re getting brand new candy,” Katie Hobbs, a student, said.

The automotive students are in the middle of their finals but they say they are looking forward to learning about the new computers in the car.
