LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Construction is still happening on the Reverse Osmosis plant in Brunswick County¬† two days after Leland, Belville and H2Go took their battle to court.

On Wednesday, a judge ruled Belville and H2go are restrained from proceeding with construction.

Mike McGill with Water PIO says the judge did not order shovels to stop. The Town of Belville interpreted the decision to mean current contracts can continue with no other future contracts issued.

In a statement, McGill said the court wanted to put a “freeze” on matters to ensure no party, Belville included, would be harmed as the matter moved through the courts. To stop ongoing, executed construction contracts would cause Belville and the contractors harm.

McGill says the order prevents harm to H2GO by holding off on future plant contracts and work to be conducted under those future contracts.
