WILMINGTON, North Carolina (UNCWSports.com) – UNCW’s Devontae Cacok simply did what he’s been doing all season long – wreaking havoc with the competition – to earn Co-Player-of-the-Week honors on Monday from the Colonial Athletic Association.
The 6-7, 240-pound Cacok erupted for 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in UNCW’s 90-70 rout of Hofstra last Saturday in the annual Homecoming game at Trask Coliseum. The Riverdale, Ga., product went 11-for-13 from the field to boost his season clip to 58.4 percent and tacked on his CAA-leading 18th double-double of the campaign.
Cacok continues to lead all players in the NCAA Division I ranks with 13.4 rebounds per game and is averaging a double-double of 17.5 ppg and 13.4 rpg. He has nine 20-point games in 2017-18 and 31 double-doubles in his three-year career.
In addition to leading the nation in rebounds per game, Cacok also tops all players in offensive rebounds per game (4.76) and total rebounds (334).
Cacok shared the honor with Charleston sophomore guard Grant Riller, who averaged 26.5 points while shooting 66.7 percent from the floor in a pair of wins over William & Mary and Drexel last week.
