LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A few lucky girls in Brunswick County had the chance to put on a tiara and spend Saturday afternoon as princesses, all while getting some special time with an important man in their life.
It was the tenth annual Little Princess Ball at the Leland Cultural Arts Center.
Girls from kindergarten through fifth grade were invited for dancing, face painting, food, and much more.
Their dates for this special event? A dad, uncle, or another male role model.
One of the event’s organizers, Mallory Wells, says it’s a big deal for these girls to have a strong male influence in their lives.
“It’s a fun event. You have a lot of parents, or a lot of dads, that have done it every year,” Wells said. “You see those girls that are in fifth grade get a little emotional because they know it’s their last year that they get to come because they’ve been coming for five years or six years straight.”
Saturday’s fun didn’t end in Leland. The Brunswick Centers in Southport and Supply welcomed little princesses and their dates as well.
