WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Have you been wondering what’s happening with the new Marina Grill restaurant in Wilmington?
WWAY had a first look at what’s happening in the space that used to be Blackfinn Ameripub in downtown Wilmington.
Marina Grill had a soft opening Tuesday night for friends and family.
The restaurant features a new menu with local products, along with some new décor depicting the USS North Carolina.
Marina Grill Director of Operations Robert Lanphier said the future of the venue next door and pier will be announced soon.
“We’re trying to engage in the community a little bit more,” Lanphier said. “This whole area we want to make basically kind of an entertainment hub. And we’re starting with this here and then we’ll work with the building next door, and then work with the pier and kind of hopefully make it a destination spot for people on a regular basis.”
Marina Grill opens to the public Wednesday, March 14.
Lanphier said they hope to start having events on the pier next door within a month or two.
He wouldn’t divulge what could be coming to the space next door, formerly called Vida, but said it should be open by the end of the year.
