WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The welcoming garden of Jill and Bo Webb is located at 1516 Chestnut Street.
This is their first year being on the Azalea Festival Garden Tour.
A stunning Japanese maple greets you as you step into the rear garden, while just beyond is a charming small playhouse that was built for Bo’s grandmother in 1903.
The large copper roof finial also came from her childhood home in Raleigh.
Some plants in the garden were planted in the 1950s with dozens of camellias and azaleas that still remain.
“The woman who lived here before us was a gardener, so we inherited a really beautiful, old garden from here,” Bo Webb said. “And over the past 20 years have just been adding to it.”
Webb adds the garden is wild and wooly, which they like about it and that there’s little surprises all over the place.
