WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wake County man will spend up to 8 years in prison for robbing two employees at a local mattress store in October 2017.
Nicolas Robert Losito, 28, entered guilty pleas to Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, First-Degree Kidnapping and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted felon on Wednesday in New Hanover County Superior Court.
He will serve at least six years behind bars. Losito is also facing multiple unrelated felony charges in Wake County.
On October 7, Losito entered Mattress Firm on South College Road armed with a handgun. Losito ordered the victims to give him their wallets, phones and keys and forced them to the back of the store. He left the scene in a car that he stole from one of the employees. That vehicle was found in a local parking lot hours later. Investigators were able to lift one of Losito’s fingerprints from the abandoned car. One of the employees from the store also identified Losito from a photographic lineup.
Losito was convicted of numerous counts of Breaking and Entering and Larceny Offenses in
Wake County in April of 2013.
