WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Volunteers worked over the weekend to improve local non-profits and schools in Wilmington.
Work on Wilmington held their 13th annual community service event Saturday. Hundreds of volunteers spread out throughout the Port City for four hours to complete dozens of projects. Some of the work completed included painting, making repairs, cleaning and beautifying the area.
One volunteer said she is proud to have made a difference in her home.
“I feel really good that I was apart of a group of people who made an impact in various areas around our city,” Wilmington Chamber of Commerce President Natalie English said.
Some of the locations were DC Virgo Prep Academy, Bradley Creek Elementary, the Brigade Boys and Girls Club, and dozens more. After the volunteers hard work they all celebrated at Hugh MacRae Park.
