Crash leads to drug arrest in Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) – A crash turned into a meth arrest in Carolina Beach.

On April 21, Carolina Beach Police responded to an accident in the 1000 block of N. Lake Park Blvd and met with the drivers of the vehicles involved.

While speaking with Timothy Alan Furr, 49, of Glenville, West Virginia, police say they saw an open container of alcohol in plain sight.

Police searched the vehicle and found more than 21 grams of Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, digital scales and marijuana.

Charges are as follows:

  • PWIMSD a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance
  • Maintaining a Vehicle for the Use/Sale of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Driving While License Revoked
  • Fail to Yield -Left Turn

Furr was placed on a 10,000-dollar secured bond.
