HORRY COUNTY, SC (WPDE) — Officers for the Horry County Police Department have administered Narcan 23 times, saving 22 lives since getting the medicine in July 2017.
Detective Cory Dulina is one of those officers who saved a life.
“Arrived on scene, found the male, who was semi responsive, sitting at a picnic table,” said Dulina.
Detective Dulina checked for symptoms of an overdose, then gave the man the Narcan.
“EMS arrived on scene, transported him to the hospital and he made a full recovery,” said Dulina.
But the Horry County coroner says drug users are not learning their lesson from overdosing.
“I hear at the ER’s and places there are a lot of what we call frequent fliers,” said coroner Robert Edge.
