CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) – The Coast Guard Command Center in Wilmington reports a good Samaritan rescued a trio of boaters whose boat was capsized in the Intracoastal Waterway along the Carolina Beach Inlet Sunday.
The Coast Guard reports the boaters say a motor yacht’s wake caused their boat to capsize. The boat was an 18 foot vessel. Coast Guard stationed in Wilmington put out a beacon for aid around the area and a good Samaritan answered the call according to the Coast Guard.
The boaters are reportedly fine and none of the needed medical treatment. They were taken to Carolina Beach State Park where authorities interviewed them. This remains an ongoing investigation according to authorities as to how the boat was flipped over.
