NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will conduct routine flushing maintenance during the summer months.
Beginning Tuesday, CFPUA crews will force water through pipes at a high velocity which will be flushed out of fire hydrants removing accumulated sediment.
The flushing will be begin at 10 p.m. and run through the night until 7 a.m. It is possible that customers may experience low pressure and/or discoloration during the process.
CFPUA recommends that customers reduce water use while crews are in their area, and if you do experience discoloration, to run cold water for at least one to three minutes to allow the lines to clear.
