WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Flight 22 welcomed in their second ever hall of fame class this evening in Downtown Wilmington, a group featuring college stars, NFL athletes and even a former WWAY employee.
A class of six men join the Flight 22 hall of fame this year.
These are all local stars who truly “built theirs” as part of the Flight 22 program.
The 2018 class features Andrew Cooke, Cole Dewey, Chris Vinson, Ri’an Holland, WWAY’s own Drew Combs and current Pittsburgh Steeler Pharoah McKever.
Each of these men brought something to the basketball court every time they played and now they’ll forever be remembered as hall of famers.
“It means a lot,” McKever said. “For Coach Nathan Faulk to take the time to reach out to us guys and value each one of his players is great. Just to get that text it was a humbling experience. I’m very humbled.”
“There’s so many other great players,” Combs said. “Just getting to share that spotlight, play with those guys and share that friendship and relationship with those guys is awesome.”
Congratulations to all of the members of the 2018 Flight 22 hall of fame class!
