PAMLICO SOUND, N.C. (WNCT) — Two men who went missing after their boat capsized in the Pamlico Sound Tuesday were found safe Wednesday morning.
The men, who were out shrimping, were found around 6:20 a.m.
Neither men suffered any serious injuries, according to U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Andy Kendrick, but they were taken to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City for evaluation.
Their 35-foot boat, the Mad Lady II, capsized around noon Tuesday.
U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Andy Kendrick said flares sent out around midnight led them to the location of the boat, near Hog Island, but by the time they got there the men were not with it.
