NORTH CAROLINA (AP) — An autopsy shows a former ECU football player shot to death in a restaurant parking lot had 19 bullet wounds.
Media outlets report an autopsy released Wednesday by the State Medical Examiner’s Office says 24-year-old Anthony Domonique Lennon was hit by at least 18 bullets outside a Raleigh restaurant in June 2017.
At least five people have been charged in connection with the death. Police have said they think Lennon was killed because a drug shipment from the West Coast to North Carolina was lost.
Two men had given Lennon money to have the drugs shipped, police said in search warrants, but authorities in Chicago arrested the woman carrying the drugs.
