BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — As schools prepare for students to return next week, districts around the Cape Fear are still looking for bus drivers.
Brunswick County has the biggest need with 23 driver openings. A spokesman says training is underway to ensure enough drivers for the start of school.
New Hanover County is about six drivers short and will use transportation staff and substitute drivers as needed.
Bladen County still needs five drivers and is working to fill those seats.
Columbus County Schools says the vast majority of positions are filled, while Whiteville City Schools is fully staffed.
