According to The News Reporter, Fair Bluff Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Ken Elliott said the National Weather Service reports the Lumber River will crest in Lumberton at 24.9 feet.

Elliott says you need to plan to evacuate prior to that happening.

If you do not have transportation, Fair Bluff Fire & Rescue will transport to a shelter. Remember that if you evacuate to a shelter, take your bedding and necessary medications.

Fair Bluff Fire and Rescue will start transporting evacuees on Sunday at noon and will stop at dark due to safety issues.
