PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — It was an exciting day for many families and teachers in Pender County as the new Penderlea School had a ribbon cutting today.
Parents, students, teachers and administrators were present as the doors were opened up for the first time. Many of the parents are happy to see all of the new additions available for their kids. For the teachers, they say this will open a door of opportunities and make it easier for them to teach the kids they get.
“To be able to have a new building for us to come into and to get these kids a new place, we’ll always be Penderlea and we’ll always have a big heart and be big, driven by the community but we needed the new facilities in order to fester everything in our kids that we want them to have,” 2nd grade teacher and Penderlea Alum Kelly Lanier said.
One of the biggest attractions to parents and teachers is that there are no parts of the school exposed to the outside, so no worries when it comes to intense cold or hot weather.
