Carolina Beach reduces regulations on food trucks

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Food trucks are now free range in Carolina Beach.

Town leaders approved reduced regulations on mobile food vendors at a meeting Tuesday night. Council approved with a 3-2 vote that food trucks can operate in town outside of a special event.

In August, a lawsuit resulted in the town repealing their requirement that food truck vendors have a brick and mortar store.

They approved for trucks to operate with a year long permit as long as they operate on private lots and no closer than 100 feet of another eatery.
