RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — A Wake County mom wants stricter punishment for bullies after her son was badly beaten during school last week.
Ashley Williams-Marble said an accidental foul on the gym class basketball court lead to a beat down on her son, who is a junior a Wakefield High School.
“We were told in the ER that one more hit and I could be burying my son tomorrow — not having his nose and face put back together tomorrow. That was a scary thing to hear,” she said.
Williams-Marble said her son Wood’s nose was broken in five places. She also said he suffered a concussion and lung damage all at the hands of a fellow student.
“When I got the news that this kid who did this to my son was only going to get five days suspension, I was appalled,” Williams-Marble said. “This kid is going to be back to school before my son is even recovered.”
