BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) – The town of Belville is slowly beginning the process to get back to normal. They gave neighbors a chance tonight to voice their concerns of what went right and wrong during Florence.
Belville is expected to spend a quarter million dollars in debris clean up.
A significant victim of storm damage was the Riverwalk which remains closed.
Town Mayor Mike Allen gave neighbors an update debris clean up as well as the status of the beloved park.
“Next couple of weeks we will be getting back to normal,” said the Mayor. “Most of the debris will be getting picked up. Half of our park will open back up. And I think people are starting to take a sigh of relief and are kind of getting back to normal and relaxed a little bit.”
Allen adds that all the debris in the town should be picked up within a week from now. The town plans to re-open Riverwalk park by the weekend.
