WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Governor Roy Cooper is back in Wilmington. Cooper made several stops across the Cape Fear Thursday to check out areas still recovering from Hurricane Florence.
Cooper made a visit between stops at WWAY’s One Day Blitz this morning at the Krispy Kreme on South College Road. He spent a few minutes speaking with the folks and personally greeted some drivers who stopped by to drop off some canned goods.
“I’m grateful for WWAY and the work of the community pulling together to help, because governor can’t do alone, businesses can’t do it alone, we’ve got to all pull together to make sure we recover from this storm and we help folks who need it the most,” Cooper said. “I want to thank you guys for doing this. Glad I could stop by and say hello to some of the people and thank some of the people personally who are bringing in cans.”
Come see us at the Krispy Kreme at 2822 South College Road in Wilmington until 7 p.m. Donate at least five non-perishable food items, and we will give you a coupon for a free dozen glazed doughnuts.
