First half goal leads New Hanover Soccer past Southern Lee

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)–It took awhile for both teams to find their offensive grooves on Thursday night, but New Hanover’s goal in the first half proved to be the difference. The Wildcats advance in the Class 3A State Soccer tournament with the 1-0 win over Southern Lee.

The lone goal of the game for the Wildcats came with just 3:23 remaining in the first half as Tenneyson Wnek found the foot of Sergio Quintero for the chip shot. That would be the only goal New Hanover needed as their defense continues to shine.
