CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A familiar face in Carolina Beach died over the weekend.
Danny Swinson reportedly died on Saturday at the age of 57.
Carolina Beach Bar Club said Danny was the man behind one of their most successful events, helping deliver nearly 1,000 food items to the Carolina Beach Help Center.
He also orchestrated countless events at Lazy Pirate Island Sports Grill, but especially the Reggae Festivus on Sundays during the season.
“Danny was the definition of selfless,” the post states. “Nearly everything he did was in an effort to promote some greater cause and simply trying to help so many organizations on the island that deserved our attention and resources.”
“Danny was truly loved by many,” one posted on Swinson’s Facebook.
“Rip Danny Swinson you always made us feel like family every time we came down to visit!!” another posted. “You will be so missed. prayers to all friends and family!!”
Lazy Pirate, located at 701 North Lake Park Blvd in Carolina Beach, will host a celebrate of life tribute to Swinson at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
