WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The story of a special dog that touched the hearts of many has shared one final adventure.
Jeremy and Kimberly Miller thought he would only live until around Christmas, but made it a few weeks past that.
Jack died over the weekend. In his final hours, Jack got to take a ride to the beach, play in the water and a snuggle in his daddy’s sweatshirt.
The Millers said Jack’s story was spread across our community and even the world.
“The community has been awesome,”said Miller told WWAY back in December. “The outreach from the community and all the different things we’ve been able to do from surfing and walks downtown to the barbecue. The Wilmington Police Department stepped in and did the honorary K-9 with him.”
Meet our newest K9 member…well, sort of. Jack Miller has terminal cancer, so his humans created a bucket list for him, which included taking a ride in a police car. On Sunday, we made that happen (and a little bit more). We’re wishing him all the best! pic.twitter.com/YqOcwlRzEK
