Stars shine at Flight 22’s MLK Day Jam

ROCKY POINT, NC (WWAY)–The stars were out at the Flight MLK Jam on Monday in Rocky Point. The day featured five games with 10 teams being represented.

In game one of the day Saniya Rivers scored a game high 22 points as the Laney girls basketball team beat Seventy-First 49-31. Game two of the afternoon featured the Hoggard boys going up against Seventy-First. The Falcons were firing on all cyclinder as Brion McLaurin finished with 18 points in the 66-38 win.

South Columbus had no problem with East Duplin in the third game of the Jam winning 66-27. It was an big all around game for Shiquaun Conyers. He finished with a near triple-double with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. It was the Jace McKenney in game four as the UNCP scored 24 points to lead South Brunswick past Purnell Swett 57-46.

In the final game of the MLK Jam it was Wilmington Christian Academy coming out on top against Union high school 55-48 behind 22 points from Luke Davenport.
