ROCKY POINT, NC (WWAY)–There have been plenty of football coaching changes around the area this off season. On Wednesday morning another school was added to the list. Heide Trask head football coach Jonathan Taylor put in his letter of resignation to the school district after spending five years with the Titans.
He steps away from the program after compiling a 24-32 record. He did lead Trask to the playoffs during the 2016 season. He explained his decision to Pender County school in his letter of resignation.
“This past year was one which was very difficult, both personally and professionally, for me and my family. My grandparents’ home was destroyed by a tornado in April, my mother’s sickness and then ultimate death, the challenges we faced as a team, and of course Hurricane Florence all took their own individual tolls in my life. I feel this decision provides me with the best opportunity to reassess my goals and find out what comes next,”said Taylor.
