Home woes continue for UNCW men’s basketball as they hit the road

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)–It looked like last weekend was going to be a favorable home stand for UNCW men’s basketball, but it didn’t turn out that way.

The Seahawks won the first of four games to begin the home stand, but dropped the last three including James Madison last Saturday night. The losses lower UNCW’s record to now 8-16 overall and just 4-8 inside Trask Coliseum.

The Seahawks will now hit the road to the Northeastern for a two-game road swing. The trip will start against Drexel on Thursday night in Philadelphia. UNCW beat the Dragons by 14 points back on January 12th at home.

C.B. McGrath’s squad will have to slow down Kurk Lee and Drexel’s bench production to come out on top.

“I don’t think he missed a shot against us the first time, but he hasn’t played lately. I don’t know his status for the game, but they do have some guys, as well as experience. It’s at their place, so they’ll be fired up,”said UNCW head coach C.B. McGrath.

UNCW and Drexel will tip-off at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday night. The Seahawks will end their road trip on Saturday at Delaware.
