WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)–UNCW women’s basketball kept things rolling last weekend sweeping Elon and William & Mary to improve to 12-0 on their home court this season.

It was a weekend of accomplishments for UNCW junior Lacey Suggs. On Friday night against Elon she scored a career high 29 points, on Monday she was named the CAA Player of the Week.

In the two wins Suggs averaged 23.5 points to go along with six rebounds. UNCW is now sporting a four-game winning streak, but that will be test when they hit the road on Friday night to battle Towson. The Seahawks beat Towson back on Janaury 20th inside Trask Coliseum, 77-73.

“This team is locked in, focused on what they want. They want to be the best team and they want to be playing their best basketball come March,”said UNCW women’s basketball head coach Karen Barefoot.

UNCW and the Tigers will tip-off at 7:00 P.M. on Friday night, in game one of the short two game road trip.
