HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — The Pender County Parks and Recreation Department will host a tree seedling giveaway next week.
It’s happening on March 8, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or when trees run out) at the Pender County Government Annex, 15060 US Hwy. 17.
“This is the perfect opportunity to replace trees that may have been lost during Hurricane Florence,” said Zach White, Pender County Parks and Recreation Supervisor. “Tree selections include River Birch, Pignut Hickory, Chestnut Oak, and White Dogwood. There will be a limit of two seedlings per household.”
Tree species availability is subject to change without notice. All selections are on a first come, first served basis. The seedlings are bare root trees.
