NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Hampstead woman wanted in a hit-and-run that injured a downtown Wilmington bartender was arrested in Pender County on Wednesday night.
Alyssa Marie Angus, 27, is charged with hit and run causing serious injury, failure to yield causing serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
The crash happened on February 23 at South Third and Dock Streets.
Justin Sartain was walking to the work and while in the middle of the intersection, Angus allegedly failed to yield and hit him, throwing him into the air and onto the top of the vehicle.
Sartain rolled off the hood of the car and into the street. As he was in the street, Angus allegedly hit him again, shattering his foot and ankle.
CrimeStoppers offered a $5,000 reward in the case.
Angus is being held under a $35,000 bond.
