WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Trolley Company has received an F rating from the Better Business Bureau of Coastal Carolina.
According to a news release from the BBB, 11 complaints were filed within the past 36 months. Out of those complaints, Wilmington Trolley failed to respond to six of the complaints. Complaints received by the BBB include a pattern of refund/exchange issues, customer service issues and service issues, the consumer watchdog group said.
BBB is warning consumers to use caution when doing business with Wilmington Trolley Company.
BBB said it contacted the company and asked for complaints to be addressed, but has not received a response from the company and all mail has been returned as undeliverable.
WWAY spoke with Wilmington Trolley Company owner Wes Moore, who said the only complaint he heard about was a wedding, but it was settled. Moore also said he knew there was another issue with a tour, but the customer had already disputed his charge with his credit card, so they could not issue another refund.
“If there’s somebody that didn’t get, we had bad weather nights and issues with some of the trolleys, if they didn’t get a refund, we’d be happy to do it,” Moore said. “I thought we had gotten to all of them.”
As for the BBB saying it has not heard back from the company about the complaints, Moore said the mail was going to a wrong address.
Moore also said they are mainly doing tours now, and not charters. Moore said if someone was owed a refund and did not get it, they should call at (910) 763-4483 or send them an e-mail.
