WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A candy shop started in Bald Head Island has expanded into Wilmington city limits.
Nonnie Doodle Sweets and Treats recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark its official opening in downtown Wilmington.
The shop offers various candies, kid’s stuff and party goods. Co-owners, Katie and Greg Guthrie named the store combing their two daughters’ nicknames.
“My desire to be a business owner started as a child with lemonade and Kool-Aid stands and selling gel pens to my friends at school”, says Katie. “When Greg and I had the opportunity to open a bright cheery candy shop on Bald Head Island, we knew we wanted to replicate it in downtown Wilmington, and jumped at the chance to do so when we found the right location.”
The store is located, at 200 Market Street, Unit 120, along the Market Street side of the new building.
The shop offers a range of other items such as pre-wrapped candy, party supplies, piñatas, drawing supplies and tee shirts.
“WDI is happy to welcome Katie and Greg into their new downtown space,” said President Ed Wolverton. “They are a great addition and expand Downtown’s retail selection by having a fun, family-friendly business,” he said.
The store is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. They can be found on the web www.nooniedoodle.com/ or at 910.769.2611.
