WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — Neil Anderson will retain his seat on city council after a recount confirmed he defeated fellow incumbent Paul Lawler by five votes.

“I’m just relieved that it’s over, Anderson said. “It’s hard to feel super excited because it’s been such a drawn out two weeks.”
