A 65-year-old man was asleep in the vehicle in the driveway when 62-year-old Warren Clarkson took a fuel can from behind the residence and began to cover the outside of it with gasoline. He then set fire to the car while the victim was still inside, and ran away.

Police believe this was an isolated incident since the victim and Clarkson know each other.

Clarkson was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Attempted Murder, Burning Personal Property, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

He is being held under a $505,000 secured bond.
