COVID-19 related deaths rise to 38 in Columbus County

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Columbus County is reporting one additional COVID-19 associated deaths.

The person died Monday while being hospitalized for the virus, according to the county.

Also, another 26 cases positive coronavirus cases have been reported in the county, bringing the total to 517.

As of Monday, Columbus County health officials say there are currently five residents that are hospitalized due to COVID-19 and there have been 38 COVID-19 related deaths.

The county will be provide an update on recoveries on Thursday.

According to the NCDHHS website, the state reports 63,484 total positive COVID-19 cases and 1,325 COVID-19 related deaths.

As of Monday, these are the latest cases and deaths reported in the following counties:

New Hanover: 840 cases, 5 deaths
Pender: 243 cases, 1 death
Bladen: 366 cases, 3 deaths
Brunswick: 499 cases, 5 deaths
