WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — A Wilmington man turned himself into authorities this afternoon after shooting a man Friday evening.
Wilmington Police say just before 10 p.m. Friday, they responded to a shooting at the 800 block of Hanover Street. The male victim was approached by 29-year-old Rodney O’Brien Wilson, the ex-boyfriend of the victim’s girlfriend. Wilson and the victim got into a “tussle”, which ended with Wilson shooting the victim, causing non-life threatening injuries.
Wilson turned himself in to Wilmington Police at 12:42 this afternoon, and is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. There is no information on his set bond.
