WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — On Wednesday, crews will begin a 6-8 week job of improvements to the metal roof on City Hall/Thalian Hall in Wilmington.
Prone to leaks in the past and exacerbated by Hurricane Florence, the City of Wilmington says the metal roof on this building will get treated with a new protective coating that will help prevent water intrusion to the building.
This work is eligible for FEMA reimbursement, according to the city.
A fence will be placed along the Princess Street and 3rd Street sides of the building beginning Tuesday. The 3rd Street entrances to the building will be closed but the Chestnut Street entrances, including an ADA accessible entrance, will remain open.
