WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Construction on North Waterfront Park in downtown Wilmington began well over a year ago, but several delays have pushed back its progress.
According to city officials, early summer has been targeted as the new project completion date.
Once construction is finished, the park and amphitheater are expected to draw thousands to the Port City.
Officials point out COVID may play a role in the park’s use at first. But they hope to host big events once the pandemic improves, including the Azalea Festival concerts in late August.
