An award-winning journalist and news anchor, Chris Brown joins WWAY as Weekend Anchor in March 2014. A native of the Port City, Chris graduated from Ashley High School in 2004 and earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2009. The winner of three Associated Press awards, Chris has been providing compelling news coverage for years; from the beaches of North Carolina as hurricanes bared down, investigations that helped spawn more Congressional hearings about the safety of tap water at Camp Lejeune and spending time with Marines on the front lines of the war in Afghanistan. In fact, Chris has been involved in television news since he was 14 years old. He got his start at New Hanover County School's Television working his way up the ladder. Outside of work, he loves to cook, enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community in any way he can. Chris loves Wilmington and is glad to be doing what he loves right back here in the town he calls home.
