A weather enthusiast all of her life, Christina put her passion to work at WWAY in September of 2012. She called Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania home, but couldn't wait to trade crisp autumns and cold winters for a beautiful beach town. Christina believes weather affects everyone, every day—and that is important. She takes pride in communicating the weather to her viewers and potentially protecting viewer lives. Christina went to college close to home at The Pennsylvania State University and earned her Bachelor of Sciences in Meteorology. She actively participated in Campus Weather Service, a student run organization at Penn State. Christina also interned at WTAE in Pittsburgh for two consecutive summers. When she isn’t forecasting, Christina enjoys spending time with her friends and family, watching her hometown Steelers, and going for a long run. Christina also loves animals and finally adopted her very own kitten in August of 2014. His name is Shark, fitting for her Topsail home.

Crowds turn out to support fallen soldier, family

video People crowded Market Street outside First Baptist Church in Wilmington today during Sgt. T.J. Butler's funeral. Supporters from near and far lined the street to show respect for the fallen soldier and his family. His story hit close to home for many of them.

As the battle for North Carolina's 7th Congressional District seat continues, Rep. Mike McIntyre released a list of local leaders who support his reelection. McIntyre says 75 percent of the mayors in the 7th District have endorsed him in his race against Republican David Rouzer.
