Justin McKee joined the WWAY team in June 2017 as a weekend meteorologist and reporter. He was promoted to morning/noon meteorologist in July 2018. Justin was born and raised in the Raleigh area. He vividly remembers big weather events that impacted that part of the state, like Hurricanes Fran and Floyd, the big snowstorm of January 2000 and the December 2002 ice storm. Justin took his passion for weather to NC State University, where he earned a degree in Meteorology and a minor in Environmental Science. While in college, Justin was active with the American Meteorological Society and the on-campus forecasting service NCSU Weather. Justin also interned at Time Warner Cable News in Raleigh while he was a student at NC State. After college, Justin accepted a job at KTTC-TV in Rochester, MN, as weekend meteorologist and reporter. He covered a wide variety of weather events there, like blizzards, extreme cold, and severe thunderstorms. After spending a couple of years in Minnesota, Justin was happy to return to his home state and work with the WWAY weather and news teams. He is excited and ready to cover the unique weather that southeastern North Carolina experiences throughout the year. Justin is a huge sports fan, supporting the Panthers, Hornets and Wolfpack. He also likes to work out and spend time with family and friends.
