Jeff Rivenbark is an Emmy-nominated and award-winning journalist with more than 20 years experience in television broadcasting. A native of Burgaw, Jeff graduated from Pender High School in 1989. He received a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (1993) and a master’s degree in Journalism from Regent University (1996). During his career, he's held multiple roles including anchor, reporter, assignment editor and executive producer. Jeff's television career began in St. Joseph, MO, where he was a morning anchor at KQTV (ABC). He then moved to Greenville, where he was a weekend anchor/reporter at WNCT (CBS). He had a brief stint in Raleigh as a Public Information Officer for the NC Department of Health and Human Services. He then moved to Charlotte to work as an assignment editor at WCCB (FOX), Spectrum News (formerly Time-Warner Cable), and WBTV (CBS). During his time at WBTV, he reported for the nationally-syndicated show "America Now." Prior to joining WWAY, he was the executive producer in charge of local productions and host of a weekly roundtable discussion program at WTVI (PBS) in Charlotte. Jeff joined the WWAY team in March 2018 as morning and noon anchor. He is extremely excited to return to Cape Fear and to be near his family again. In his free time, he enjoys working out, running and enjoying the beach!
