Marcy came to WWAY in September of 1999, only a few days before Hurricane Floyd made landfall. The frenzy of working during a Hurricane was definitely one way to get her feet wet in the hectic but exciting business of television news. Marcy was born in San Pedro, California, but moved to Newton Grove, North Carolina in 1989. Marcy graduated from East Carolina University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, with a concentration in Media Performance. While at ECU, she worked briefly as a sportscaster at WZMB, the student-run campus radio station. Her last semester of college, she worked as an intern in the sports department at WNCT-TV 9 in Greenville. When Marcy first started at WWAY, she worked as a part-time editor. She moved up the ladder from editor, to reporter and eventually news anchor. She was the morning anchor on Good Morning Carolina from 2006 to 2011. Marcy got married in 2006. In September of 2010, she and her husband became the parents of twin boys, Grayson and Cristian. In 2012, when she had her daughter, Sofia, she left the news business to become a stay-at-home mom. The thirst for working in television news couldn't be quenched, so she eventually returned to WWAY to work part-time producing the CW. In 2017, she resumed full-time duties and became Managing Editor. When there's free time (hah!) she loves reading novels by Ann Rice, Stephen King, and Sidney Sheldon. She's also a fan of Walt Whitman and Edgar Allen Poe.
