Randy Aldridge is a native of the Cape Fear area having grown up in Southport. After several years away from journalism, Randy came to WWAY as host of a weekly home segment called "Randy to the Rescue" in 2010. In 2012 his work at WWAY expanded when he became host of "Your Hometown," showcasing businesses throughout the area. In 2013 he joined the news team as anchor of Good Morning Carolina and one of the original anchors of WWAY NEWS at Noon. In 2018 Randy was promoted to evening anchor. Randy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. While at UNC he worked as a reporter for the Daily Tar Heel, worked in public and community relations for General Electric and was a contributor for The Carrboro Citizen and The State Port Pilot. A proud native of the area, Randy now lives on Pleasure Island and enjoys the beach and boating, tennis, dining out and UNC sports.
